MAC's main and major launch of the summer, Colour Craft, is finally here!!! I had a chance to visit my local MAC store on launch day, and am excited to share my review! I was impressed with the eyeshadow quads due to the fact that the colors in the quads were very complimentary to each other. There are six different quads that offer a variety of shades. I did not however, think that any of the colors offered were new. Most of the colors reminded me of permanent colors in the regular eyeshadow line. Everything in the collection is mineralized, which I tend to stay away from because the shimmer of the products just does not compliment my already oily skin. Mineralized make up also makes me break out, so beware if you have oily skin. However, if you prefer mineralized products then this is your chance to pick up some good colors for a fairly reasonable price. Each quad costs $19.50 + tax. They are also excellent to travel with, as you can very easily take a few different colors with you on your trip without hauling too much stuff!
Natural Flare: Copper, yellow orange, medium gold, and dirty brown. This quad was one of my faves. It would be easy to get a complete look from using just the shadows in the quad. The yellowy orange color however was not as smooth as the others and flaked away very easily.
Assemblage: White, brownish grey, light gold, and black with silver glitter. The black in this quad and in Fashion patch are the same. The white barely showed up on me but the gold was very pretty as was the brownish grey.
Eccentricity: Medium gold, lavender, darker copper, and purple. Color payoff was good and they all looked good together when blended.
Fashion Patch: Sky blue, white, light pink, and black with silver glitter. I thought that this would be the one to sucker me in but I really was not impressed with the color payoff of the blue or the pink. They barely showed up on my hand and both just looked sparkly, there really was no color to them.
Odd Bits: Grey, dirty pink, medium gold, and a dark rose. The rose color in this quad was gorgeous! The lighter pink and rose blended together was also gorgeous. The gold looks about the same as the gold in Eccentricity and the color payoff of the grey was good.
Girlish Romp: Lavender, white, medium pink, and coral. This quad would be my other fave. All of the colors showed up well on my skin and did not brush away as easily as some of the others. I really liked the coral color the best and it was pretty next to the pink.
Overall, most of the shadows were very pigmented and softer than some of the mineral shadows that I have tested, MAC or otherwise. They definitely have a lot of sparkle to them. My hands are still shiny from testing! I had a great time testing these products and know you will have an even better time purchasing them!
Love,
Trisha
