The Benefits of Combining Moisturizer and Makeup by Jessica S.

I always find myself at the store trying to choose the right moisturizer for my skin; this usually ends up being an event of trial and error. We all know that everyone’s skin is different, some have oily skin, some have dry skin and others have combination skin. But finally I have found it, not only have I found the right moisturizer for my skin, but for yours too!

The moisturizer I speak of is nothing short of amazing; for your skin and your make up technique. You can find the Murad Sheer Lustre Moisturizer in your local salon for about $20 and the 1.7FL. Oz. will last you a long time. When you apply it to your skin, it will not only glow and shimmer but your skin will truly feel like silk (keep in mind to only apply a thin layer to your face where you feel dryness most).

Now, make sure that you apply it to your eyelids also in order to get the smoothest look from your eye shadows. Immediately after you apply the moisturizer, begin applying your eye shadow. By using the moisturizer as a base your eye shadow will look creamier and the color will stand out more. Not only will the overall appearance improve but your make up will last longer, this includes any foundation or blush you may put on as well.

Pro Tip: Put a pump of moisturizer with your foundation and mix them together on your hand or in a petri dish (ala MAC) and then apply on your face with a brush. A rounded or flexible brush works best, this technique will not work with a flat brush. This is a hard technique to master but practice makes perfect, and it will ensure a healthy, moisturized, natural, and beautiful glow to your skin. E-mail us for questions and good luck divas!
